DISCOVER THE BEAUTIFUL NATURE AT
Old Conna Golf Club

Under the expert guidance of the late Jack Gardiner, a listing of the notable trees
in Old Conna Golf Course has been compiled. Among these are a number of
outstanding specimens, termed “Champion” trees which are listed on the Tree
Register of Ireland in the National Botanic Gardens in Glasnevin.
In the early part of the last century, the trees of Old Conna Estate were recognised as an
important arboretum which attracted visitors from all over Europe.
We are now making this listing accessible to the members of Old Conna on this
website, in a way which allows members to view the precise location, along with
a detailed image of these trees. There are 64 trees in total and each is described by
both its common name and its corresponding scientific (Latin) name.
In recognition of the huge contribution made by Old Conna Club Captains over
the years, we have also included the names of the two captains for each year from
the foundation of the club in 1977. These names are printed on the bottom of
each tree tag.
